**Avoid taking tramadol with sertraline unless a clinician who knows your medications specifically prescribes and monitors it.** The combination can raise the risk of **serotonin syndrome** and **seizures**. Also, don’t take medication prescribed for someone else.
For tooth pain, contact a dentist promptly. If safe for you, **ibuprofen and/or acetaminophen (paracetamol)** are usually preferred—follow package limits and avoid ibuprofen with ulcers, kidney disease, blood thinners, or pregnancy; avoid acetaminophen with significant liver disease or heavy alcohol use. **Do not stop sertraline abruptly** to take tramadol.
